OUR TOWN: Tiger Bounce employees keep a clean house

When one first walks into Tiger Bounce, two things are immediately apparent.

First, there’s the steady drone of blower fans that keep the six tiger inflatable bounce houses at the business erect under the constant pounding of children running, jumping and sliding their way through the structures. Beneath that white noise are the joyful squeals of children as they go about their youthful duty.

What is not immediately apparent is the subtle smell of disinfectant cleaner. It is not until one stands right next to a bounce house that the sterile scent is noticeable. The smell is perceptible even after thousands of kids stomp and roll over the inflatables.

That’s because the staff members at Tiger moon Bouncers are serious about cleanliness. Workers clean the houses at least twice a day, once before the business opens and again after it closes. Employee Tedi Ellis said they try to squeeze in another cleaning during the day if business is a little slow.

On Sunday night, Alexia Brown crawled, squeezed and climbed her way through a bounce house known as “The Obstacle,” wiping down surfaces as she went. Click this page: http://bestoninflatablebounce.com/commercial-bounce-house-for-sale/.

“It’s definitely a workout,” Brown said.

Halfway through cleaning the inflatable assault course for sale, Brown’s cleaning towel had become quite soiled. But it could have been worse.

“One kid took his dirty diaper off in ‘The Big Obstacle’ and went through the whole thing,” Ashley Edwards said.

Edwards said they were quick to close off the house after the diaper was discovered and thoroughly sanitized the entire house before kids were allowed to resume their play. Edwards also said she has cleaned vomit and bandages from the inflatable structures.

Cleanings typically take about 30 minutes, depending on the number of bounce houses currently on the floor. The number of houses depends largely on their sizes.

Tiger Bounce routinely rotates out houses every six to eight months to keep customers coming back for new experiences. If a house starts to show signs of wear quickly, the business rotates it out sooner. Each house also is equipped with an alarm that lets staff and parents know whether the house is receiving air, which gives them plenty of time to safely get kids off of a deflating structure.
